 WELCOME TO WEINLOS

Welcome to Weinlos School. We are an Elementary School located in Mill Woods. Our school is a diverse learning community of about 440 students in kindergarten through grade six. We are excited by the opportunity to share with you the exemplary work students, staff and parents are engaged in across our school and community. We have a committed and caring staff, a stimulating learning environment and a welcoming family atmosphere.

Weinlos School will continue to be an overflow designated school for Svend Hansen School. That school is full and is implementing a lottery process. This means that if the number of new students wishing to attend Svend Hansen exceeds the spaces available, those students will be welcomed at our school. Students from Svend Hansen School should enrol at their designated school first if they wish to be part of the lottery process and be placed on the callback list. If families do not want to be part of the lottery process, they can choose to register or pre-enrol directly at Weinlos. Siblings will also be able to attend. More information about the lottery process is available on the Edmonton Public Schools website.

Weinlos is a closed boundary school. As outlined in Division regulations, the only new students accepted to our school during pre-enrolment are:

  1. Resident students who live within the attendance area.
  2. Siblings of current students who will be returning to the school the following year.

If the student you are registering or pre-enrolling meets one of these criteria for the 2023-2024 school year, please register them online (new students) or pre-enrol through SchoolZone (existing students).

Following the close of pre-enrolment at 4 pm on April 14, 2023, the school will only accept resident students who have newly moved into the attendance area or resident students eligible for Kindergarten.  If you have additional questions about this process, please call our office at 780-462-5261.    We look forward to welcoming our new families!
