Parent Groups
The Weinlos School Council is very active in our school. Regular meetings are held every six weeks to plan and discuss special events and to provide input into the learning opportunities being provided in the school. Staff and parents work closely together to build community connections, enhance communication and nurture positive learning opportunities for all children at Weinlos. We welcome new members any time throughout the year to become engaged in the dialogue.
The Weinlos Parents’ Fundraising Association connects families with the school, providing a voice in the life of the school. Our parents are a vital part of the school community at Weinlos. The relationships we build between home and school provide strength and lasting value for our children and our future.
The Parent Fundraising Association is involved with fundraising activities throughout the year which include:
- Monthly hot lunches
- Various fundraisers
- Casino
Funds raised from the above activities are put toward enhancing the learning opportunities of all students. The Parent Fundraising Association has been a strong supporter of many school initiatives such as:
- Four mobile chromebook carts
- iPads for every classroom
- School-wide artist in residencies such as the Alberta Opera
- Classroom field trips
- Year-end activities
- New literature and resources for the school
- Support for school wide events
- New sound system and stage for the gym
- Phys Ed equipment
